About the role

The Distribution Supervisor is a salaried leadership position responsible for the timely, accurate and efficient processing of workflow through an assigned area, with a focus on receiving, picking, packing, and shipping warehousing functions within the Retail and DTC distribution environment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise up to 50 associates
• Achieve continual process improvement, focusing on accuracy, customer value proposition, order flow/processing schedules, inventory, and expense management
• Coach, train, and mentor staff to continuously improve workforce effectiveness
• Write and administer annual Associate performance evaluations and conduct regular career development and performance conversations
• Monitor and track labor productivity and key performance indicators, improving performance versus prior year and plan objectives
• Eliminate non-value-added activities and inefficiencies
• Remain competent in decision making, risk management, and cost analysis, demonstrating strong judgment skills
• Obtain a strong knowledge of Warehouse Control/Order Management system (Manhattan Warehouse Management System) and utilize it to eliminate non-value-added activities and inefficiencies
• Promote safety leadership by protecting the health and welfare of the Company’s associates

Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in a technical discipline (Industrial Engineering, Logistics or Operations Management) is preferred, or 5 plus years of related work experience. 3-5 years of supervisory experience in distribution operations is required.

Skills

• Promote teamwork and work effectively within diversified teams
• Proficiency with warehouse and distribution management software, with experience with Manhattan Warehouse Management System preferred
• Experience with process improvement and driving change
• Ability to analyze forecasting and make well-supported recommendations
• Strong computer skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access
• Thorough understanding of policies and procedures relative to customer service
• Prioritize customer satisfaction and display a sense of urgency when responding to customer concerns
