Distribution Supervisor
About the role
Directly supervise and drive distribution employees in assigned value stream which requires people management in the areas of; performance management, time and attendance, mentoring and development, motivating and recognizing individuals for exceptional work, and ongoing discipline where necessary.
Lead the day-to-day distribution activities within the value stream to ensure that current commitments are achieved while improvements are made.
Drive a continuous improvement culture by finding ways to eliminate waste by applying lean methodology, involving employees in problem-solving and decision-making, and cross-functional partnerships.
Move about within the plant in the facilitation of work teams, problem-solving, and communication with employees and management.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships, both internal and external, and establish credibility with business partners.
Ensure a clean and safe working environment for all employees, emphasizing prevention of potential problems and hazardous conditions, and support nVent’s safety programs.

Requirements
- Academic background with Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science preferred
- Previous experience in or with: ideally 3+ years of distribution experience, with a preference for receiving and shipping leadership experience
- Experienced with ERP systems and understanding of SQDCC
- Demonstrated understanding of Lean Distribution concepts
- Knowledge of process improvement concepts and methods along with the flexibility and adaptability to accept, support, and deploy new processes in a changing business environment
