Distribution Supervisor
About the role
The role of the Distribution Supervisor is to handle all trucking and distribution functions for the specific location. Supervises and coordinates activities of all dispatchers, drivers, field service personnel and truck maintenance. Coordinates and supports all Class A and Class B licensed personnel.
Responsibilities
- Works with the regional safety officer to coordinate the procedures required for compliance with OSHA, DOT, EPA, FDA, and state and local regulations
- Develops, implements and refines, as needed, standard operational practices
- Maintains all drivers files and maintenance records in accordance with federal/state regulations
- Promotes a safe work environment by facilitating daily safety meetings
- Supports the Inside Sales team with SAP order entry as needed
- Supports the branch manager delegation of duties in Workday as needed
- Represents company in response to traffic violations; guides accident reporting and resolution for fleet
- Operates forklift and safely load / unload compressed gas and liquid cylinders to and from delivery vehicles
- Inspects cylinders prior to filling, using standard operating procedures
- Fills cylinders or containers to proper pressure or weight, whichever is appropriate
- Ensures cylinder filling records are accurately maintained and that all required procedures are followed in order to comply with local, state and federal regulations
Requirements
Required Qualifications: High school degree or the equivalent preferred, with two to three years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with SAP is preferred. At least two years’ experience working in a distribution, logistics environment. Proficiency in Google Suite. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to work independently and under pressure to meet deadlines. Ability to perform very heavy work – routinely lifts 25 – 75 lbs., occasionally lift 76 to greater than 100 lbs. Ability to perform work during prolonged standing up to 8 hours; Frequent bending, stooping, crouching, reaching, grasping, feeling and repetitive motion also required. Ability to perform work during occasional climbing, balancing, kneeling, crawling, pushing, pulling and finger activities. Ability to read and comprehend load sheets and materiel safety data sheets (MSDS). Must be able to safely drive a forklift. Must be able to work occasional overtime, if necessary. Must be able to work outdoors in temperatures ranging from -10 to over 110 degrees.
Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Previous experience in a supervisory role. Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, EPA, FDA, and state and local regulations. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with SAP.

Pay
$75,000-$85,000/annually
