Distribution Quality Inspector
About the role
The Distribution Quality Inspector is a critical and autonomous role responsible for executing the expanded Quality Management System (QMS) strategy within the logistics center. Utilizing a High-Level of Attention to Detail and ERP Proficiency (Business Central), this role guarantees a high Perfect Order Rate (POR) by strictly enforcing the First Expired, First Out (FEFO) protocol for all limited shelf-life products.
Responsibilities
FEFO Protocol Enforcement: Strictly enforce and execute the First Expired, First Out (FEFO) protocol for all time-sensitive inventory (e.g., sealants, mastix, foam) prior to the picking process.
Expiration Date Inspection: Conduct physical and system inspections of expiration dates on selected lots scheduled for shipment.
ERP: Utilize the system functionality to verify lot numbers, expiration dates, and inventory status (Available/Quarantine).
Sherlf-Life Alerts: Generate and communicate internal alerts regarding inventory lots approaching minimum required shelf-life or expiration, recommending proper isolation or disposition.
Inventor Quarantine: Ensure the physical segregation and system quarantine (in ERP system) of expired, damaged, or non-conforming shelf-life products.
POR Checklist Execution: Perform quality inspections on staged orders according to the established Perfect Order Rate (POR) checklists and sampling plan.
Product Integrity Verification: Visually inspect all outgoing finished goods for physical damage (dents, scratches, broken packaging) incurred during warehousing or staging.
Order Accuracy Check: Verify order fulfillment accuracy, confirming that the correct item and quantity are prepared according to the sales order documentation.
Shipping Documentation Review: Review and confirm the accuracy and completeness of all required shipping documentation, including labels, Bills of Lading (BOL), and Certificates of Analysis (CoA) when required.
Packaging Standards: Confirm that all packaging and loading methods meet internal standards to prevent transit damage.
Non-Conformity Logging: Accurately log all quality failures or non-conformities related to POR or FEFO deviations directly into the Business Central system or the integrated Quality Management module.
Corrective Action Support: Participate in the Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and follow-up activities associated with CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Action) to resolve systemic distribution quality issues.
Hold Process: Initiate and manage the product Hold process for suspect material, ensuring inventory is locked both physically and in the ERP system.
Data Integrity: Maintain accurate and detailed records of all inspection results, test data, and quality control checks.
Performance Reporting: Compile and present weekly/monthly reports on key quality metrics, including POR compliance and FEFO failure rates, to the Quality and Operations Management teams.
Procedure Maintenance: Assist in the review and updating of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to shipping, handling, and shelf-life control to align with QMS standards.
Team Training: Provide guidance and basic training to the Shipping/Logistics team on quality procedures, FEFO best practices, and the use of relevant BC quality fields.
