Distribution Manager

About the role

The Distribution Center Manager oversees the warehouse workers and ensures daily shipping goals are met, assisting and developing direct reports to achieve desired results. This role also assists the Plant Leadership Team (PLT) in building the distribution team and fostering an environment of cultural alignment, problem identification, and problem-solving.

Responsibilities

  • Manage shipping efficiencies and backorders.
  • Oversees pricing of freight, leases, shipping materials and supplies.
  • Coordinates and schedules deliveries to meet and exceed customers' expectations while optimizing loads and minimizing work hours.
  • Reviews all paperwork to plan work activities, schedule appropriate personnel, and balance loads.
  • Reflects Masterbrand’s business values and philosophy in all business interactions.
  • Ensures safety of personnel and compliance with all applicable health and safety regulations.
  • Provides a safe and productive work environment, including housekeeping.
  • Manages data in WMS/ERP systems; Oracle ERP preferred.
  • Works as a business partner to the Plant Leadership Team (PLT).

Requirements

  • 5-7 years as a Warehouse/DC Manager in an industrial environment.
  • Experience managing data in WMS/ERP systems; Oracle ERP preferred.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.
  • Strong management and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead and motivate a diverse group of employees.
  • Excellent working knowledge of safety practices and regulations, including OSHA compliance.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, be a team player, and have the proven ability to multi-task in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common business reports.
  • Ability to listen and communicate effectively with customers/clients to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers/clients, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community and public.
  • Ability to develop presentations to be delivered to production team, plant level team, or public groups.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
