Distribution Engineer

About the role

Leidos is seeking Distribution Engineers in the Framingham, MA area. This role involves designing and managing projects for electric utility customers, with a focus on maintaining high-quality work standards.

Responsibilities

• Design engineering for Leidos electric utility customers
• Develop work packages for overhead (OH), underground (UG), underground ready (URD), and make-ready projects
• Manage scope, schedule, and budget of work assigned
• Perform functional tasks, planning, and customer follow-up
• Conduct scope analysis and ensure schedule adherence to advocate client priorities
• Initiate continuous improvement to workflow processes that drive efficiency and high-quality standards in client design deliverables
• Coordinate conflicting utilities and other field engineering design requirements
• Develop large design packages for complex cable/conduit projects in dense urban environments
• Develop work permits, easements, and right-of-way applications

Requirements

• 2+ years of prior relevant experience
• Bachelor of Science in Engineering discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial) from an ABET accredited institution
• Experience and proficiency with the National Electric Safety Code (NESC)
• Some prior experience with structural analysis, guying calcs, cable pulling calcs, coordination of protective devices, and electric demand and fault currents calculations
• Ability to provide your own reliable transportation for customer-site visits
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

Pay

The pay range for this role is $59,150.00 - $106,925.00 per year.

Schedule

This role is hybrid, with 3 days/week spent in the office and 2 days/week working remotely.
