Distribution Electrical Engineer

Primary Responsibilities
- Prepare engineering drawings, calculations, analyses, reports and designs for distribution overhead and underground lines.
- Perform load flow analysis, contingency analysis, and coordination studies.
- Create full design packages across many different projects: Infrastructure, Renewables, Industrial, etc.
- Mentor newer EIT’s to grow their careers and capabilities.
- Coverage of the following tasks:
- Coordinate the work of the power design team through the schematic design development and contract document phase of a project.
- Establish meetings and participate in reviews with various governing agencies for code compliance.
- Coordinate workload to complete the deliverable on schedule.
- Conduct work sessions at the project site in conjunction with the Project Manager and other disciplines.
- Review project documents for areas of conflict with other disciplines.
- Write and edit project specifications.
- Coordinate with and assist affected disciplines with addenda, requests for information (RFIs), change orders (COs), and take responsibility to incorporate agreed-upon changes into the project documents.
- Provide construction contract administration as needed.
- Perform QA/QC on the work of other Engineers, Project Coordinators or Designers, or BIM Technicians as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in engineering or MBA
- Preference given to candidates local to the Madison/Milwaukee, WI or Minneapolis, MN area
- Some travel may be required
- Medium voltage design and power system study analysis experience
- Part of a local or national organization within the industry
- Previous presentation or white paper experience
- Previous experience with an engineering consulting firm or electrical utility
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience in project execution within the Power Sector Market
- Computer skills in Microsoft Office as well as standard Power Market Sector design software (examples include PLS CAD, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, AutoPipe, and Revit)
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered.
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience in project execution within the Power Sector Market
- Computer skills in Microsoft Office as well as standard Power Market Sector design software (examples include PLS CAD, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, AutoPipe, and Revit)

Pay Range
The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full-time regular positions. Temporary and part-time roles eligible for limited benefits.) The salary range in Minnesota is $85,260 - $121,800.
