Responsibilities
- Perform complex detailed design of overhead electric distribution systems.
- Prepare field notes, drawings, specifications, and estimates.
- Assist with quality control reviews and training junior team members.
- Provide limited direction to Designers and Technicians on assigned projects.
- May serve as design leader on projects of minor complexity.
- Perform a variety of design related duties including, but not limited to, preparing manual or computer-assisted design and construction drawings, taking significant roles in the preparation of cost estimates, specifications, evaluations, and requisitions, assisting in underground engineering calculations, coordinating equipment deliveries, and monitoring equipment performance.
Qualifications
- Preferably 2-5 years of design experience of the CPS Energy 3-phase Underground, single-phase URD, 3-phase, and single-phase Overhead.
- 2-5 years of GIS, MicroStation, and CAD experience.
- A thorough knowledge of practices and procedures pertaining to technical matters in one or more of the following areas: Distribution Electrical Design, Instrumentation and Control, Protective Relaying, Transmission Design, Substation Design, Civil Design, surveying, GIS and Mapping.
- Ability to perform with a minimum of supervision, a variety of design related duties including, but not limited to, preparing manual or computer-assisted design and construction drawings, taking significant roles in the preparation of cost estimates, specifications, evaluations, and requisitions, assisting in underground engineering calculations, coordinating equipment deliveries, and monitoring equipment performance.
