Responsibilities

• Work with the Engineering staff to support the reliability of the electric distribution system
• Support electric reliability, power quality, system protection, and plant betterment to improve the electric distribution system
• Gain significant professional confidence and people skills through practical operations experience and mentoring

Requirements

• Current student, Freshman or Sophomore (as of Fall 2026)
• Enrolled in an ABET accredited electrical or mechanical engineering program
• Able to commute to 790 S. Buchanan Amarillo, TX or 4201 Frankford Lubbock, TX
• Able to work full-time during the summer (up to 40 hours a week) and part time during the school semester (up to 20 hours a week)

Preferred Qualifications

• 3.0 GPA (out of a 4.0 scale) or higher
• Completed 2 years of undergraduate coursework, including classes in mathematics, physics, and basic electric circuits
• Experience or proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
