Distribution Design Engineer

About the role

We are seeking Distribution Engineers to develop construction work packages for electric distribution systems across overhead, underground, and URD environments.

Responsibilities

• Designing and developing work packages using GIS, CAD, WMS, and other systems
• Performing engineering calculations such as pole analysis, cable pulling, and fault currents
• Managing projects related to overloaded transformers, joint use, and inspections
• Preparing forestry trimming requests
• Facilitating permits and Right-of-Way acquisition
• Developing BOMs and estimating costs
• Customer advocacy activities like easements and CIAC calculations

Qualifications

• BS degree (utility experience preferred)
• Knowledge of GIS, AutoCAD, Pole Loading software, NESC standards, and distribution design projects
• Strong communication skills
