About the Role
Responsible for directing all operational activities in a distribution center environment generating approximately $150M or greater in revenue. Supports the distribution network by managing redistribution activities of $20M inventory or greater. Focuses on operational excellence, process improvement initiatives, exceeding customer expectations, and talent acquisition, development, and retention of associates. Acts as a strategic partner with logistics and supply chain management to establish and adhere to operating budgets.
Responsibilities
- Provides effective leadership to ensure efficient distribution operations and adherence to policy, procedure, and process excellence.
- Ensures the well-being of associates through compliance with safety, Hazmat, legal, and human resource policies.
- Selects, develops, and manages performance of direct and indirect reports.
- Ensures appropriate staffing levels by forecasting resources needed to meet service, financial, and operational requirements.
- Oversees carrier services and dedicated delivery processes; partners with support staff to ensure compliance with DOT regulations.
- Develops annual operating budgets in support of the company's financial goals and manages P&L.
- Completes cost justification and determines ROI.
- Controls costs through process improvement initiatives, productivity of personnel, efficient space utilization, and protection of stored materials.
- Ensures protection and accuracy of inventory by adhering to all inventory control processes and procedures.
- Protects the well-being of associates and the environment by fostering a culture of safety awareness and strict compliance with EHS and Hazmat policies.
Requirements
- Typically requires a BS/BA in a related discipline; generally 7+ years of experience in a related field.
- May require certification; advanced degree may offset less experience in some disciplines.
- Solutions require analysis and investigation; decisions are based on professional methods, business principles, and practical experience.
- Manages larger teams or multiple small teams through subordinate management and/or supervisory staff.
- Overnight travel 5% to 20% of the time.
Work Environment
- Located in a comfortable indoor area; conditions may produce mild discomfort occasionally.
- Most time is spent sitting, standing, or walking; some requirement to lift or handle material or equipment of moderate weight (8-20 pounds).
Pay
$111,200.00 - $170,800.00 annual.
