Distribution Associate - Small Pack (1st Shift)

About the role

Responsible for three of the following areas: Picking (carousel, automatic dispense machine (ADM), pick to light (PTL), voice picking, list picking via RF scanners), Packing (small order, multi tote, advanced shipment notice (ASN)), Problem resolve, and Carrier Sorter. With time in the position, the employee must demonstrate proficiency in these areas. Works under close supervision.

Responsibilities

• Picks and packs customer, distributor, and contract orders via courier for shipment within established guidelines.
• Utilizes material handling equipment such as Carousel, ADM, PTL, Voice Picking, List Picking via RF Scanners, Paper Picking, Manual Picking, Man-ups, and Fork trucks.
• Knowledgeable of Baan Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Kewill, and Red Prairie Warehouse Management System for basic order processing, order lookup, and general troubleshooting of problem orders.

Requirements

• Works scheduled holidays to maintain service levels for customers.
• Works extended hours, including mandatory Saturdays, as business needs dictate to complete daily department goals or tasks.
• Adheres to scheduled hours and is ready to work at scheduled start times; notifies Supervisor prior to absence or tardiness in accordance with company policy.
• Immediately informs Coordinator/Supervisor/Manager of safety, sanitation, and equipment malfunctions, as well as concerns regarding quality issues.
• Exhibits good communication skills—verbal, written, and comprehension of the English language.
• Adheres to Standard Operating Procedures and Regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Forklift and Man-up License.
• Knowledge of Kewill, BAAN, Red Prairie Warehouse Management Systems, Microsoft Office (Word/Excel), FedEx, and UPS Software.
• Experience with wedge/radio frequency (RF) scanners, voice headsets, shrink sealer, heat tunnel, tape gun, utility knife, ladders, step stools, zebra printers, tray former, and various packing components.
• Experience with Forklifts, Man-ups, Hydraulic Pallet, Manual Pallet, and Hand Truck.
• Ability to perform basic mathematic and problem-solving skills within a team-based environment.
• PC skills/knowledge/experience or equivalent training required.
• High school diploma or GED required.

Pay

Starting base pay for this role is $19.00/hr and may include cost-of-living adjustments. The actual base pay includes many factors and is subject to change and modification in the future. This position may also be eligible for other types of compensation and benefits.
