About the role
The DES Analyst position within Fund Administration supports the day-to-day distribution and expense operations of exchange-traded funds, mutual funds, and closed-end funds. Key responsibilities include calculating and projecting income and capital gain distribution estimates, accurately and timely calculating and reconciling dividends and capital gains, validating distribution rates, components, and tax classifications, and maintaining organized records while ensuring compliance with internal controls.
Responsibilities
- Calculate and project income and capital gain distribution estimates for clients.
- Accurately and timely calculate, reconcile, and pay out dividends and capital gains for ETF and mutual fund products.
- Prepare and process dividend and capital gain distribution files.
- Validate distribution rates, components, and tax classifications (e.g., ordinary income, qualified dividends, capital gains, return of capital).
- Collaborate with fund administrators, tax administrators, fund accountants, transfer agents, custodians, index providers, and exchanges.
- Support daily financial operations for ETF and mutual fund products by processing invoices, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring accurate allocation of fund expenses.
- Maintain organized records and ensure compliance with internal controls.
- Work closely with internal teams and external service providers.
- Develop knowledge to mentor teammates, use problem-solving skills, and communicate effectively with mid-level and senior-level Fund Administrators.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent work experience.
- One to two years of related work experience.
Qualifications
- General knowledge of ETFs, mutual funds, other investments and security types.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles.
- Acknowledgment of ethics and compliance.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Organized and attentive to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, projects, and deadlines simultaneously.
- Ability to perform under tight deadlines.

- Proficient computer navigation skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel.
- Willingness to learn new and sometimes complex concepts.
