Distinguished Engineer, Production Engineering, Data Center Automation

For our client, we are seeking a Distinguished Engineer, Production Engineering, Data Center Automation to join the team of a leader in the Telecommunications & Hardware space. This role will shape the technical direction for large-scale infrastructure automation and production engineering across mission-critical data center environments. You will define architectural vision, operating models, and engineering standards that support reliability, service delivery, and production readiness at scale. This position partners closely with cross-functional technical teams to drive high-impact decisions and coordinated execution across the organization. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $320,000 – $488,750 annually Responsibilities Define long-range technical strategy for large-scale cloud clusters Establish architectural vision for cluster lifecycle and service delivery Guide the roadmap for cross-organizational investments in production readiness Make high-impact decisions for coordinating operational teams Develop workflows and interfaces for Kubernetes service reliability Qualifications BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience 18+ years of experience with large-scale distributed systems and infrastructure platforms Proven technical leadership at a company level in production engineering or SRE Experience establishing operating models and engineering standards across organizations History of leading large, cross-team technical efforts from concept to production Benefits Equity opportunities Comprehensive benefits package Access to cutting-edge technology and tools Collaborative and innovative work environment Work with leading experts in AI and cloud technologies Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
