Distinguished AI Engineer
Technical Ownership
Serve as the technical owner of agentic AI, managing architecture, model strategy, production deployment, and reliability.
Clinical Operations Agents
Lead the development of AI workflows for scheduling, intake, insurance verification, referral triage, and care coordination.
Clinician Copilots
Develop tools for real-time documentation, risk surfacing, and treatment-plan support integrated with EHR systems.
Agentic Substrate
Define and build eval frameworks, observability, guardrails, tool registries, and simulation environments.
Model Strategy
Own the strategy across frontier models, fine-tunes, and classic ML, communicating effectively to executive and clinical leadership.
Collaboration
Partner with Product, Clinical, and Data teams to identify high-leverage AI opportunities.
Best Practices
Establish standards for AI reliability, safety, evaluation, and explainability in a regulated environment.
Mentorship
Mentor engineers and data scientists to foster a culture of technical excellence.
Requirements
- Experience: 10+ years of software engineering experience, with recent years focused on LLM or ML-powered systems in production.
- Technical Skills: Hands-on experience designing agentic systems (tool use, planning, multi-agent orchestration, eval design, failure-mode analysis).
- Leadership: Track record of owning complex technical initiatives end-to-end (including evaluation infrastructure, observability, and compliance reviews).
- Communication: Strong skills for operating across registers, from executive strategy to code review.
- Domain Interest: Genuine interest in healthcare and responsible AI application in regulated, high-stakes domains.
- Education: BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Work Schedule
Must be able to work a hybrid schedule in the NYC office.
Compensation
Base Salary: $350,000 - $600,000 per year (commence employment).
