Distillation Technician I

Job Responsibilities

  • Processes plant material and maintains distillation equipment, including boilers and stills.
  • Maintain and repair infrastructure and facility systems such as plumbing, electricity, fences, buildings and irrigation.
  • Operate and daily maintain heavy equipment, small machinery off-road vehicles.
  • Aids in work performed by sub-contractors, new construction, plant nursery, planting and reforestation.
  • Educates visitors and community members about KMR operations.
  • Maintains a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs and work in physically demanding environments.
  • Basic computer skills and capable of using email, text and other common forms of communication.
  • Four-wheel drive vehicle is required for site access.
  • Must be available to work weekends.
  • Preferred experience with heavy and small machinery, off-road vehicles, distillation, facilities maintenance and/or natural resources.
  • First Aid training, advanced computer skills, and knowledge of Hawaiian language and culture are a plus.
