Display/Delivery Assistant

Responsibilities

• Maintain merchandise on the showroom floor in functional condition, including ordering parts and performing minor repairs.
• Support the moving and arranging of merchandise on the showroom floor.
• Assist with furniture deliveries to customers’ homes, including unloading trucks and placing items inside the home.
• Help the Display Coordinator with floor moves and processing of new accessories.
• Assist the Display Coordinator by aiming lighting on furniture and accessories.
• Place POP material, hang banners, and install signage.
• Assist customers in carrying merchandise to their vehicles.
• Provide light housekeeping to keep the showroom clean.
• Maintain the stockroom in an orderly fashion, including sweeping and mopping.
• Keep exits lit and free of obstruction.
• Assist in the maintenance of the grounds.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience in retail, warehouse, or delivery roles preferred.
• Physical ability to lift and move up to 150 pounds; stand for extended periods; bend, stoop, and reach as needed.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
• Team‑oriented mindset; ability to assist on delivery trucks when required.
• Problem‑solving skills for minor repairs and part orders.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and ability to pass a physical assessment.
• Flexibility to work varied schedules, including weekends.
• Ability to pass a drug screen and background check.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Requirement to adhere to Havertys’ dress code: uniform, professional appearance, steel‑toe boots (lace‑up style recommended).
• Color‑recognition ability as required for the role.

Pay

$17.00 per hour.

Schedule

Potential schedule: Tuesday – Saturday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm.

Work Environment

Employees work in beautifully appointed showrooms with a 140‑year heritage, in a fast‑paced, customer‑focused setting. The role may involve occasional assistance on delivery trucks, delivering furniture to customers’ homes. Employees must follow the company dress code, wear uniforms, and use steel‑toe boots that extend above the ankle (lace‑up style recommended). The position requires physical stamina and adherence to safety protocols.
