Dispensing Pharmacist - Long Term Care - Part Time

About the role

Omnicare, a wholly owned subsidiary of CVS Health, provides pharmacy-related services to long-term care facilities and other healthcare customers. As a Pharmacist in our Long Term Care Pharmacy, you will work in a dynamic environment, ensuring pharmacy management's goals and objectives are met. You will provide comprehensive drug screening, information, processing, and dispensing services, ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of drug products to customers.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate entry of orders
• Maintain security of the pharmacy
• Adhere to required delivery schedules
• Verify orders entered by technician staff for accuracy
• Check for completeness and precision of all new and refill labels and orders
• Check for content and accuracy of all drug packaging and labeling
• Prepare and/or supervise sterile IV drug products or solutions, if required
• Assist in maintaining a perpetual inventory for schedule II drugs
• Knowledge of DEA and state law regarding controlled drug dispensing
• Provide evening, weekend, and holiday coverage during scheduled rotation based on business needs
• Follow all applicable state and government regulations, including HIPAA
• Perform other duties as assigned (varies by location)

You will be an integral member of the pharmacy team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, quality, and service. Strong customer service skills and the ability to prioritize workflow are essential.

Requirements

• Must be a licensed pharmacist in the state of Virginia, active and in good standing
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy or PharmD

Preferred Qualifications

• Long Term Care pharmacy experience
• IV Certification or experience
• Immunization certification or willingness to become immunization certified

Schedule

This is a part-time position with an anticipated 15 hours per week. Schedule is based on the needs of the business.

Pay

The typical pay range for this role is $45.43 - $76.15 per hour. The actual base salary offer will depend on factors including experience, education, geography, and other relevant considerations.
