Position Summary
Responsible for set up/break down, cleaning, monitoring, and recording the operation of assigned machinery/equipment. Additional duties include following production processes, operating machinery, performing in-process checks, and adhering to safety and quality standards.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
- Learn and operate selected machinery and equipment within provided training and manuals
- Tear down and reassemble machinery/equipment as trained
- Collaborate with quality control to perform in-process checks and ensure product conformity
- Plan for efficient pre/post- and between-test time utilization
- Adhere to existing corporate policies and procedures, including safety, cGMP’s, GDP (good documentation practices), and good housekeeping practices
- Decrease product variability through proper equipment preparation and conduct all assigned work in compliance with established standard operating procedures
- Meet or exceed daily production requirements adhering to product specifications as set by production management
- Maintain neat, concise, and accurate records of all associated documentation
- Accurately measure and dispense raw materials according to formulation requirements
- Operate blending equipment to mix ingredients and achieve specified product characteristics
- Monitor and adjust blending processes to ensure consistency and quality
- Perform equipment checks, cleaning, and maintenance to uphold operational efficiency
- Perform other job duties and responsibilities as assigned
Work Environment
- A large percentage of the time is spent in the production area where noise level can be moderate to high
- Duties are performed primarily in a smoke-free manufacturing environment
Requirements
- High school diploma (or equivalent)
- 6+ months working in a food manufacturing environment or a related field preferred
- Familiarity with basic tools and hardware preferred
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to effectively communicate in English via speaking, writing, and reading
- Understand current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), and maintain high quality workmanship
- Use computers for data entry, and labor reporting as trained
- Willingness to work overtime or on weekends, as the workload demands and occasionally with short notice
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Basic familiarity with computerized systems and basic software applications
- Frequent physical demands: stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, balance, and reach for extended periods
- Lift and/or move up to 50 lbs, push/pull up to 300 lbs
- Ability to operate a pallet jack (manual and/or electric)
