About the role
The Dispensary Lead, reporting directly to the Dispensary Manager, is responsible for assisting in managing all daily operations of the dispensary, leading a patient-centric team, and achieving company standards of professionalism and compassionate patient service. This role ensures compliance with all state and local laws and regulations and implements and maintains company policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for either opening or closing of dispensary (key holder)
- Balancing cash and product inventory as part of daily closing procedure
- Observing and participating in patient services during consultation and sale
- Updating Communication Binder for most current information for team members
- Auditing patient intake forms for accuracy and completion
- Assisting with Verified Financial Hardship (VFH) program
- Maintaining accountability of all team members, in relation to specific job description
- Performing general office work, such as filing records, operating copy machines, and using email
- Upholding all company policies and procedures
- Providing General Manager with feedback on inventory levels and sales on a weekly basis
- Ensuring that all dispensary agents maintain proper recordkeeping such as patient intake forms, cash handling records, chain of custody documents, and waste disposal logs
- Helping educate all team members on product offerings and any changes in state or city regulations
- Assisting with coordinating patient home delivery schedule with Delivery Manager
- Participating in weekly and quarterly management meetings

Requirements
- Experience in hospitality service and/or high-volume retail environment
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred
- 1 – 3 years in a retail environment managing a team
- Knowledge of local and state laws and regulations pertaining to medical marijuana (a plus)
- Experience working with Excel, POS, and inventory management control systems
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 75 lbs
Physical and Environmental Requirements
- Ability to work a minimum of 8 hours a day and rotating shifts; flexible schedule availability including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to lift, push, and pull 50 pounds
- Ability to sit, squat, bend, and kneel repetitively throughout a workday
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Ability and willingness to work in the following conditions: general office environment, extended computer usage, extended phone usage, environments with exposure to fumes, dust, odors, heights, indoor AC, no AC, motion, and noise
