Dispensary Associate

About the role

The Dispensary Agent interacts with, educates, and advises patients in person and by phone, manages record-keeping, assists with inventory and cash handling, and collaborates with local service providers. Cross-trained in order fulfillment, the role includes preparing orders, entering product data, communicating with patients, and admitting patients when needed.

Responsibilities

• Greets members in person or by phone; schedules appointments; oversees intake and renewal procedures
• Maintains member records in compliance with state law and company policy
• Answers questions about regulations and company operations from members and others
• Assists members in selecting medicine; educates on safe dosage and usage
• Supports Dispensary Manager with inventory and cash management (daily/weekly)
• Maintains a clean, safe, and welcoming facility environment
• Performs additional duties as assigned by the Dispensary Manager

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2+ years’ experience in a fast-paced, client-service role (hospitality/retail preferred)
• Proficiency with POS systems, Microsoft Office (Word/Excel), and office equipment (copiers, phones)
• Familiarity with medical marijuana history/varieties (preferred but not required)
• Exceptional phone and in-person customer service skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and remain composed under stress
• Proactive, flexible, and adaptable with strong multitasking abilities
• Commitment to confidentiality, ethical conduct, and teamwork
• Strong cash-handling, inventory control, and communication skills
• Reliability, honesty, and attention to detail

Work Environment

• Manufacturing/retail setting requiring extended standing, walking, bending, and reaching
• Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs. for distances up to 100 ft.
• Occasional repetitive use of arms/hands for cutting or manipulating small objects
• Exposure to humid, pollinated environments
