Duties & Responsibilities
- Working with District Managers to ensure drivers are in compliance with Department of Transportation HOS Regulations and that proper paperwork is completed such as Daily Vehicle Inspections and monthly Meter Creep Test.
- Be the primary contact person for drivers to make sure that any issues or assistance is given in a timely manner and questions are handled.
- Route trucks on a daily basis to ensure that customer expectations and delivery goals are met.
- Review route progress during the day, make adjustments as needed: including adding stops and or call-ins.
- Communicate with drivers through both computer communications and phones as needed.
- Review completed deliveries to make sure K-Factors/Daily Use and schedules are updated to maximize delivery efficiencies.
- Create schedules to effectively use the driver/truck resources.
- Audit/ correct work locations and departments.
- Aid drivers with technical issues on the Toughpad/Android and troubleshoot accordingly.
- Update customer accounts with notes that pertain to issues that occurred during or after delivery and forward issues to appropriate departments.
- Review remote monitors to ensure that tickets are created as necessary and that key business accounts are delivered in a timely manner as well as metered tanks.
Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or GED.
- Two years of dispatching with computerized routing experience preferred.
- An overall understanding of retail operations including the poultry segment of our business.
- Proficiency in Windows Operating System, Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical, problem solving, decision making, multitasking skills.
- The ability to maintain composure in difficult situations.
