Job Summary

Principal Duties And Responsibilities

• Captures and schedules all outbound loads and coordinates with sales and production.
• Collaborates with SR personnel for proper loading and shipping order setup.
• Coordinates with external freight companies for common carrier shipments.
• Determines transportation modes and selects carriers.
• Negotiates rates and contracts for transportation services.
• Routes orders and dispatches carriers with delivery instructions.
• Affirms compliance with Universal and DOT regulations and procedures.
• Sets delivery appointments and loading times for carriers.
• Answers and resolves supplier and customer transportation issues.
• Documents shortages and investigates causes for compensation or customer resolution.
• Audits and approves freight bills for payment.
• Files claims for lost or damaged inventory and notifies management.
• Takes and acts upon calls for tracing and expediting orders.
• Prepares various reports and correspondence as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, minimum 2 to 4 years of experience in the field or related area, 5 years preferred.
• Working knowledge of standard DOT concepts, regulations, practices, and procedures.
• Working knowledge of Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Basic knowledge on lumber math, lumber grades, and species.
• Potential for additional training or certifications.

Hourly/Salary Pay Range

$50,000 - $100,000 annually dependent on experience.

Bonus/Incentive Pay

• Available for certain job roles, including piece rate incentives, weekly production bonuses, trip rates, and employee referral bonuses.
