Dispatcher

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Create and maximize capacity by ensuring productive use of all assets, equipment and drivers.
• Ensure maximum productivity by achieving or exceeding Company-established goals by successfully routing vehicles.
• Assign loads to drivers based on designated routes and driver location.
• Prepare, update, dispense and close the daily route schedule.
• Gather and maintain route sheet documentation for pick-ups (scheduled, missed, extra pick ups), route completions and driver locations.
• Ensure route completion via the driver check-in process.
• Closely prior day routes by 10am (local time) within the Soft-Pak operating system.
• Courteously interact with customers, as required.
• Report driver performance issues or concerns to appropriate management for resolution.
• Follow and comply with all safety policies.
• Add additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Education/and or Experience: Associates Degree preferred. Proven experience as a dispatcher or in a similar role. Experience in customer service preferred. Microsoft Office. Experience in the Solid Waste Industry preferred.
• Specialized Knowledge Required – Including any required certificates, licenses, and registrations: Strong organizational skills and ability to work in high-volume, fast-paced environment. Ability to work effectively and efficiently within a team environment. Ability to complete projects and assignments with minimal direction from leadership.

Physical Demands

• Lifting: Light lifting (20-25 pounds), office environment.

Work Environment

• Office: Standard office equipment; work usually performed in an office setting free from any disagreeable elements.
• Travel: As required for position.
