Dispatcher

About the role

The Dispatcher will coordinate and disseminate information concerning flight activity, establishing and maintaining rapport with flight crews, pilots, passengers, ground handlers, and customers.

Responsibilities

• Distribute incoming air traffic information to pilots and ground handlers.
• Follow up with updated information as received.
• Communicate flight release and fuel load information to appropriate operations.
• Maintain lines of communication with line operations and air carriers using two-way radios.
• Coordinate with billing departments for services rendered and compile flight information for final bill preparation.
• Maintain flight logs and update flight schedules.
• Arrange accommodations during flight delays.
• Handle phone traffic and assist in gate assignment planning and control.
• Assist with passenger services as required.
• Recommend weight and balance preparation in accordance with airline requirements.
• Comply with attendance and tardiness standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Possess a valid US driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• 1+ years of experience as a dispatcher.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Pass pre-employment drug screen and all pre-employment testing.
• Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Comfortable lifting 70 lbs repetitively.
• Comfortable working in all weather conditions.
• Pass FBI background check and obtain US Customs Seal.
• Available and flexible to work variable shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• High school diploma, GED, or six months’ experience as an Operations Agent.
