About the role
The Housing Dispatch Operations Manager oversees the operations of three safety service centers: Housing Dispatch, Campus Safety Operations Center, and the Housing Safety Koban. These centers provide a variety of safety-related services to both the UCLA campus and its residential communities.
Responsibilities
- Hiring, training, and supervising Housing Dispatch staff
- Managing and prioritizing service requests
- Daily administration of various access control and safety program databases and programs
- Conducting systems audits
- Coordinating with UCPD CSO Programs on staffing of the Housing Safety Koban
- Aiding in the training of UCLA Housing staff on safety programs
- Acting as a liaison with other campus departments
- Operating a University vehicle and traveling to offsite work locations
Requirements
- 2 years demonstrated experience leading and/or managing teams
- 3 years demonstrated experience in dispatch operations, physical security, and/or access control programs and processes in a large-scale institution
- Administrator level working knowledge of Onity or Saito Keycard System
- Working knowledge of Blackboard Campus Wide ID System
- Experience with large scale event (5000+ persons/day) security/traffic/transportation/parking coordination
- Experience with access control and video management system(s)
Qualifications
- Working knowledge of University policies and procedures
- Working knowledge of departmental personnel and payroll procedures
- Administrator level working knowledge of Onity or Saito Keycard System
- Working knowledge of Blackboard Campus Wide ID System
- Experience with large scale event (5000+ persons/day) security/traffic/transportation/parking coordination
- Experience with access control and video management system(s)
- Ability to analyze and synthesize information from various sources
- Ability to analyze technical data using logic and quantitative reasoning
- Experience in conducting and arranging training sessions
Skills
- Writing concise, logical, and grammatically correct English
- Administrator level working knowledge of Onity or Saito Keycard System
- Working knowledge of Blackboard Campus Wide ID System
- Experience with large scale event (5000+ persons/day) security/traffic/transportation/parking coordination
- Experience with access control and video management system(s)
- Ability to analyze and define administrative and technical problems
- Ability to analyze technical data using logic and quantitative reasoning
- Experience in conducting and arranging training sessions
