Dispatch Manager

About the role

The Dispatch Manager at White Cap plays a crucial part in helping to build America. Working in an exciting and diverse environment, you'll manage, recruit, and hire all Delivery Drivers and Dispatchers, ensuring they operate safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Manages, recruits, and hires all Delivery Drivers and Dispatchers.
• Ensures delivery trucks are loaded and operated in compliance with all safety standards.
• Ensures Drivers are routed effectively to meet planned and unplanned delivery commitments.
• Ensures vehicle fleet is properly maintained.
• Minimizes turn-around times through direct supervision of Drivers.
• Works with Warehouse Manager to ensure seamless integration of Delivery and Warehouse operations and proper inventory controls.
• Works closely with Inside Sales and Account Managers to resolve delivery issues, reroute trucks, and make unplanned vendor pickups.
• Develops and maintains expert knowledge of the branch delivery area geography.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Generally has 7+ years of experience.
• Prior supervisory experience preferred.
• Experience with routing software preferred.
• Experience with DOT regulations and driver safety programs preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and driver safety programs preferred.

Skills

• Strong leadership and management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
