Dishwasher II (Providence)

Location: Anchorage, Alaska (Providence contract site)

Employment Type: Full time, 30-40 hrs/wk

The Dishwasher II supports kitchen and dining operations by cleaning dishes and assisting with light janitorial duties to maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment.

Responsibilities

• Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment manually or using dish machines
• Operate dishwashing equipment, including loading and unloading racks
• Sort dishes, glassware, and silverware by type
• Maintain cleanliness of dining and kitchen areas
• Perform light janitorial duties such as sweeping, mopping, wiping surfaces, and cleaning restrooms
• Bus tables and keep service areas stocked and organized
• Follow OSHA safety standards and food sanitation guidelines
• Complete required food handler training and company trainings
• Maintain positive relationships with coworkers and customers
• Follow all company policies and procedures
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation practices preferred
• Previous dishwashing, janitorial, or food service experience preferred
• Ability to follow simple instructions and complete assigned tasks
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with dishwashing equipment and cleaning tools
• Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and cleaning chemicals (MSDS)
• Strong teamwork and customer service skills

Physical Requirements

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds regularly
• Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks

Work Environment

• Exposure to wet conditions, cleaning chemicals, and kitchen equipment
• Fast-paced environment with moderate to loud noise levels

Schedule

Varies based on contract needs (may include mornings, evenings, weekends)

$17.75/hour
