DISHWASHER (FULL TIME AND PART TIME)
About the Role
We are hiring immediately for full-time and part-time DISHWASHER positions at Texas A&M University-San Antonio, located at 1 University Way, San Antonio, TX 78224. Note: Online applications are accepted only.
Schedule
Full-time and part-time schedules are available, Wednesday through Sunday, with hours that may vary. More details will be provided during the interview.
Requirements
Prior dishwashing experience is preferred.
Pay
Pay ranges from $14.00 to $15.00 per hour.
Responsibilities
- Scrape and rinse food from dirty dishes, washing them by hand or placing them in racks or on a conveyor to the dishwashing machine, depending on assigned equipment.
- Ensure complete cleanliness and sanitation of dishes, pots, pans, and trays based on assigned procedures.
- Polish silver using a burnishing machine tumbler, chemical dip, buffing wheel, and hand cloth, depending on assigned equipment and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with outlined safety procedures and maintain temperatures and chemical levels as outlined by provided standards.
- Keep the dish area orderly and in compliance with safety and sanitation standards.
- Sweep and mop kitchen floors, wash worktables, walls, refrigerators, meat blocks, and other food prep surfaces.
- Remove trash, place it in designated containers, and steam clean or hose out garbage cans.
- Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas, and help load and unload supplies and products.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Additional Information
Because this position requires you to perform services in an educational facility, there may be periods when the Company does not require you to perform work (such as winter and summer breaks when food service needs decline or cease). Any such periods during which you do not perform work on the Company’s behalf may be unpaid and deemed a temporary layoff. However, depending on business needs, you may be required to work year-round, potentially at a different location during break periods. Business needs may vary from year to year.
