Join our team at our Minneapolis location in the charming and historic Mill District neighborhood. This is a Sherman Associates owned Hilton franchised location. The position is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards for China, glassware, tableware, cooking utensils, etc., using machine and manual cleaning methods. This position also ensures the kitchen is maintained and is a clean, safe and sanitary facility. Schedule : Available shifts include part-time day/evening shifts, with weekend availability required. Essential Functions Sorts and rinses dirty dishes, glasses, tableware and other cooking utensils and places them in racks to send through dishwasherSorts and stacks clean dishesCarries clean dishes to cook's line and other proper storage areasTests dishwasher sanitizing levels and adjusts standards based on testing resultsWashes pots, pans and trays by handRemoves trash and garbage and transports to the dumpsterSets up or breaks down dishwashing areaCleans and rolls/unrolls matsFills/empties soak tubs with cleaning/sanitizing solutionsSweeps/mops floorsAssembles/disassembles dish machineWipes up any spills to ensure kitchen floors remain dryNotifies manager any time dish machine wash or rinse cycle falls below safety standard temperaturesDoes not touch dirty dishes before touching clean dishes without washing hands firstCompletes other tasks and duties as assigned based on business needs Minimum Requirements Previous experience working within a kitchen environmentAbility to communicate effectively and follow directions in a multi-lingual environmentAbility to read and comprehend labels on chemicalsA passion for the mission, vision, and values of Sherman AssociatesSchedule may vary due to the specific needs of the hotel WORK ENVIRONMENT The work environment can be loud and busy. There are many kitchen hazards such as hot surfaces and liquids, sharp knives, and slippery floors. Physical Requirements Must be able to sit or stand in designated work area throughout the day based on business needsMust have the ability to move around freely throughout the designated work areaMust be able to exert well-paced ability to various areas within and outside the restaurant in a timely mannerMust be able to lift up to 25-30 lbs. frequently throughout shift, and lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. occasionallyRequires grasping, writing, sitting or standing, moving about freely, repetitive motions, bending, reaching, crouching, and communicating effectivelyMust be willing and able to wash hands frequently throughout the shift Additional Screening Requirements Must successfully meet criminal background screening requirements for position. Compensation And Benefits Pay Range: $17-19/hr. Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position; including experience, skills, and knowledge the selected individual is bringing to the specific job.
