About the Role
The Dishwasher works behind the scenes to ensure the kitchen area is clean, safe, and sanitary at all times, which is essential in delivering a high-quality culinary experience for residents. This position reports to the Culinary Supervisor or Culinary Service Director and is part of the Culinary department.
Our Culinary Department provides nourishing and delicious meals served in a warm and inviting environment, recognizing that meals and food activities are a crucial part of every resident’s day. Delivering a memorable dining experience is our top priority.
Responsibilities
- Sort and rinse dirty dishes, glassware, tableware, and cooking utensils, then place them in racks to send through the dish machine.
- Sort and stack clean dishes and carry them to the cook’s line or proper storage areas.
- Wash pots, pans, trays, dishes, and utensils by hand using specified soap and water as directed.
- Sweep and sanitize kitchen floors, mop stockrooms, and take out trash.
- Report any hazardous situations in the kitchen to the Culinary Supervisor or Culinary Service Director.
- Adhere to all sanitation and safety standards.
- Assist with other duties as assigned by the Culinary Supervisor or Culinary Service Director.
- Maintain regular attendance, punctuality, and dependability for all scheduled shifts.
- Support team goals by assisting coworkers, welcoming new associates and residents, and participating in community operations.
Requirements
- Working knowledge of dish cleaning practices and dining etiquette.
- Knowledge of proper food service sanitation techniques.
- Experience working in a commercial kitchen preferred.

Physical Requirements
- Constant use of manual dexterity, auditory, and visual skills, with frequent use of bi-manual and fine motor skills.
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
- Frequent exposure to hot water, garbage disposals, and cleaning chemicals.
- Exposure to heat and cold.
- Ability to reach, bend, twist, squat, kneel, push, and pull.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to perform repetitive movements, including simple grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation.
- Occasional sitting, with constant walking and standing.
