About the Role

Pyramid Global Hospitality is a leading hospitality management company with a portfolio of more than 200 hotels and resorts and over 18,000 associates across the United States, Caribbean, and Europe. We are looking for individuals with great attention to detail to join our kitchen team as a Steward at the Virginia Guesthouse, a 214-room hotel featuring 25,000 square feet of conference and event space located on the beautiful Grounds of the University of Virginia.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a daily sanitation log for both dish machine and manual pot wash sink
• Ensure the work areas are left ready and communicate any items that are not ready
• Lead our Green initiatives by properly recycling all cardboard using the compactor
• Be energy conscious and turn off lights when not in use, keep water faucets turned off, and report any leaks to a supervisor
• Prioritize safety by paying close attention to specific high traffic areas to avoid accidents, slips, trips, and falls
• Use proper dish and glass racks to ensure proper cleaning and avoid chips, cracks, or breakage of small wares
• Proactively clean and sanitize all equipment in slow times to maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary environment
• Learn different tasks within the kitchen and develop new skills
• Assist in other areas when business levels dictate
• Provide a genuine level of engagement with all guests and fellow crew members with a sincere smile

Requirements

• Housekeeping experience desirable
• Engaging and pleasant personality who likes to meet new people
• Able to use time wisely to accomplish tasks
• Able to work on feet for an extended period
• Effective communication skills
• Able to move, traverse, position self to reach corners on floors and high places; observe conditions, detect odors, position and navigate carts weighing up to 100 lbs in tight spaces; operate equipment including spray bottles, vacuums, mops, brooms, dust pans, scrub pads and dusters
• Able to lift, carry and position loads of at least 25lbs

Pay

The compensation for this role is $18.00 per hour.
