Dishwasher
About the role
We’re seeking a Dishwasher to ensure dishes and utensils are cleaned, sanitized, and properly stored while supporting a smooth and efficient dining service. Reporting to the Dining Room Manager or Director, Culinary Services, you’ll help maintain a safe, clean, and professional kitchen and dining environment.
Responsibilities
- Support a positive customer service culture in the dining room
- Transport dishes to the kitchen and maintain a clean dining area
- Clear, wash, and sanitize dishes, utensils, and tabletop items
- Return dishes and utensils to appropriate storage areas
- Ensure safe work practices for yourself and coworkers; comply with Safety Committee Standards
- Complete sanitation and cleanup tasks for dish room, kitchen, dining areas, steam tables, sinks, and drains
- Empty trash and follow daily cleaning schedules
- Assist with serving residents in the dining room as needed
- Maintain flexibility with daily schedule, including weekends or evenings as needed
- Display friendliness and professionalism when interacting with residents, families, and visitors
- Provide support during community tours and events
- Follow dress code and maintain a positive professional image
- Report elder maltreatment or abuse as required to appropriate management and authorities
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director, Culinary Services
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience in food service or customer service preferred
- Obtain Food Handlers Permit as required by state regulations
- Must be 18 years or older
- Meet health requirements including health screening and TB clearance
- Pass state-required fingerprinting and criminal background check
- First Aid certification required
Qualifications
Compassion for and desire to work with older adults, strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to understand and follow instructions, plan and organize tasks, self-motivated with strong customer service work ethic, pleasant, professional, and personable with excellent organizational skills.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, and balance. Ability to talk, hear, and use vision effectively. Occasional weekend, evening, or night work and on-call as needed. Possible exposure to communicable diseases, blood-borne pathogens, latex, and other hazards. Ability to lift and assist as needed, up to 50 lbs occasionally. Frequent interaction with coworkers, residents, and vendors.

Schedule
Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays 10AM to 6PM
