About the role

Responsibilities

• Cleans, organizes, and sanitizes all food service equipment, work surfaces, utensils, and work areas according to the cleaning schedule and infection control policies.
• Maintains equipment temperature logs.
• Aids cooks with meal preparation as needed.
• Sets up and breaks down employee meals.
• Segregates, sorts, removes trash and recyclables and disposes them in designated containers.
• Maintains inventory on chemicals (15 C).
• Exercises caution and good safety judgment in uncertain conditions or situations, and reports and/or corrects potential/actual hazards.
• Participates in emergency drills and situations such as fire, fire alarms, hurricanes, and other possible emergencies as outlined in the Disaster Response Playbook.
• Interacts with residents/clients and co-workers with patience, understanding, and kindness in accordance with the organization's mission and core values.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Basic computer skills.
