Responsibilities

• Keeping all areas of the kitchen and cooking studio clean during and following all events and classes held in the Pleasantville Cooking Studio.
• Working with the culinary team to ensure a great experience for our guests.
• Arranging table settings and workstations as advised by culinary staff.
• Assisting teammates in the preparation and set up of all cooking classes and events.
• Washing dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and pans using dishwashers or by hand.
• Placing clean dishes, utensils, or cooking equipment in appropriate storage areas.
• Maintaining all kitchen work areas, equipment, or utensils in a clean and orderly condition.
• Sweeping and/or scrubbing counters, floors & cupboards following every event/class.
• Cleaning garbage cans with water or steam.
• Sorting and removing trash, placing it in designated pickup areas.
• Receiving, storing, and transferring supplies or equipment between storage and work areas.
• Assisting with loading and/or unloading food and supply delivery trucks.
• Additional responsibilities as assigned by Resident Chef.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year dishwashing (including handwashing of knives, glassware) experience preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of kitchen experience is preferred.
• Must have high-energy and be a self-starter.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as scheduled.
• Ability to remain in a stationary position for 2-3 hours at a time.
• Ability to reach, push, grab, pull, bend, stoop, kneel, etc. to retrieve and/or replenish merchandise or handle cooking equipment.
• Ability to move and/or lift merchandise and/or kitchen equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Must work well in fast-paced environments and be able to contribute to building a best-in-class culture of customer responsiveness, constant improvement, and teamwork.
• High level of commitment and responsibility.
• Superior organizational skills with ability to manage and execute multiple tasks with accuracy.
• Close attention to detail and effective time management skills.

Pay

Starting Pay at $17.00 per hour plus overtime.
