Disease Specific -Stroke Reviewer

Responsibilities

• Counsels and educates staff and patients on health care issues.
• Evaluates assigned services and programs for compliance with applicable program standards.
• Analyzes and interprets performance data and clinical practice guidelines.
• Conducts and participates in required conferences and interviews.
• Documents recommendations and submits review findings.
• Interprets and explains The Joint Commission standards to organization's personnel.
• Consults with staff regarding non-compliance, opportunities for improvement, and remedial action.
• Recommends resources that clarify standards and demonstrate compliance.

Qualifications

• Advanced Degree in Nursing or Licensure as a Physician.
• Board Certification in Neurology.
• Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) certification through National Association for Healthcare Quality (NAHQ).
• Five years clinical experience with the care of Stroke patients.
• Experience with a Joint Commission Comprehensive Stroke Center is preferred, but Primary Stroke Center experience will be considered.
• 100% nationwide travel required.
• Currently available to work .48 FTE (2 weeks per month).
