Job Summary
As a Registered Nurse for Admission and Discharge at HCA Florida Westside Hospital, you will play a crucial role in ensuring a seamless and efficient transition for patients coming in and out of acute care hospital settings. Your primary focus will be delivering exceptional patient-centered care, specialized assessment skills, and advocating for patients, families, and caregivers.
Qualifications
Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date (RN)
Registered Nurse
Associate Degree in Nursing required
Must have acute care experience
What will you do in this role?
Obtains a nursing assessment history and ensures proper inpatient care unit admission.
Takes appropriate action when needed, such as communicating special circumstances to physicians and/or care team or reporting indications of abuse or neglect.
Completes and facilitates the completion of required documentation, such as admission assessments, risk assessments, medication reconciliation, discharge paperwork, and post-hospital documentation.
Teaches patients/families/caregivers about a patient’s medical condition, patient status, treatment plan, medications and possible side effects, and follow-up measures.
Translates complex medical terminology to ensure complete knowledge.
Completes extra discharge documentation, education, and discharge care for special patient populations, to ensure compliance with core measures for discharge.
Sets up and coordinates with House Supervisors/Nursing Administration to prioritize workload and identify greatest need areas to ensure smooth patient transitions.
Demonstrates a time-conscious awareness and ability to prioritize. Distinguishes between low and high-priority activities.
