Responsibilities
- Provide musical entertainment as scheduled—including lounges, pool deck, production shows, private parties, and special events.
- Use personal music library and equipment to create an appropriate atmosphere for all assigned activities.
- Confidently use the microphone to host events and serve as an effective Master of Ceremonies.
- Host scheduled social, entertainment, and recreational activities such as Guess That Tune, Music Trivia, and Gameshows.
- Ensure all events begin promptly as scheduled and assist with guest song requests.
- Actively engage with guests, promoting upcoming activities and enhancing participation.
- Welcome guests at events and maintain an approachable, friendly, and patient demeanor at all times.
- Monitor onboard activities, take corrective action when needed, and promptly inform the Cruise Director of any concerns or unusual matters.
- Work cooperatively as part of the Entertainment Department and maintain positive relationships with colleagues across all departments.
- Foster teamwork, promote cooperation, and respect the privacy and rights of all colleagues.
- Assist the Cruise Director in implementing departmental guidelines, procedures, and training practices established by the corporate office.
- Complete and support OCI & RSSC Service Training Programs.
- Be familiar with basic sound and lighting operations within lounge areas.
- Maintain personal and company-provided equipment, keeping accurate inventory records.
- Provide thorough handover documentation to the incoming DJ to ensure a smooth transition.
- Monitor adherence to company policies, procedures, and instructions.
- Perform other related duties as assigned in support of daily operations.
- Project a professional appearance, maintain good hygiene, and consistently demonstrate positive, courteous behavior.
- Exhibit an energetic, personable, and articulate presence with strong communication skills.
- Be service-oriented, receptive to direction, and committed to delivering exceptional guest experiences.
- Demonstrate punctuality, discipline, and the ability to work seven days a week as required.
- Maintain positive energy and enthusiasm to create fun, memorable guest experiences.
- Be able to live in crew cabin accommodations.
Requirements
- Minimum of two years’ experience as a DJ in various entertainment venues; previous cruise experience preferred.
- Minimum of two years’ experience serving as a Master of Ceremonies.
- Fluent communication in English as a premium language.
- Ability to play guest’s requests and mix music accordingly.
- High School Diploma, or Foreign Equivalent, is preferred.
