Disaster Response Volunteer – Join the Disaster Action Team (North Jersey)
Description
When disaster strikes your community, Disaster Action Team (DAT) volunteers are the first to respond—day or night—to provide comfort, care, and essential support to families during their toughest moments. This opportunity supports all seven North Jersey counties: Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Morris, Passaic, Sussex, and Warren.
Responsibilities
- Provide immediate resources (food, clothing, temporary lodging)
- Offer emotional support and reassurance
- Assist with replacing critical items
- Offer guidance to help families begin their recovery journey
Where You’ll Serve
Although this role is posted for all of North Jersey, volunteers are assigned to a local Disaster Action Team in the county where they live.
Time Commitment
- 5–10 hrs/week
- On-call shifts
- Flexible schedule
