About the role
As a Disaster Recovery Coordinator, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of USSTRATCOM. USSTRATCOM is a Combatant Command responsible for strategic deterrence, nuclear operations, and enterprise IT services essential to national security. It oversees Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications (NC3), Joint Electromagnetic Spectrum Operations (JEMSO), Global Strike, and Missile Threat Assessments, working closely with other Combatant Commands, Services, and defense agencies. SCITLS will ensure mission success and the safety of the U.S. and its allies by providing 24/7 IT services and network support for NIPRNet, SIPRNet, JWICS, and SAP/SAR environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain assessment, planning, and execution processes aligned with ITIL 4 continuity management
- Coordinate and execute all DR/COOP activities including preparation and after-exercise lessons learned
- Support COOP planning, perform DR testing, and coordinate with owners of new systems to ensure DR requirements are considered and disaster recovery plans are made
- Enhance and maintain DR/COOP plans and documentation and validate recovery capabilities through periodic testing, including targeted recovery tests conducted throughout the year
- Perform DR/COOP exercises, which include FISMA system security tests and tabletop exercises
- Perform quarterly testing of alert and notification procedures and systems for any type of emergency
Requirements
- 3+ years of related experience
- Current/active Top Secret/SCI clearance
- ITIL 4 Foundation certification (to be obtained within 9 months of start)
- US Citizenship
- Strong knowledge of Disaster Recovery (DR), Business Continuity (BC), and COOP methodologies
- Expertise in planning, coordinating, and executing DR/COOP activities, including full-scale exercises and tabletop tests
- Ability to support COOP planning for new systems, ensuring disaster recovery requirements are identified and incorporated
- Experience conducting FISMA-aligned system security tests as part of DR/COOP exercises
- Skill in performing targeted recovery tests, annual DR validations, and periodic failover/restore drills
- Ability to maintain, update, and audit DR/COOP plans, documentation, runbooks, and procedures
- Proficiency in alerting and emergency notification systems; ability to conduct quarterly testing
- Understanding of IT infrastructure, system dependencies, and recovery strategies (e.g., failover, replication, backup restoration)
- Familiarity with enterprise change management processes that can impact DR/COOP readiness

Pay
The likely salary range for this position is $86,700 - $117,300.
