About the Role

Lifesteps, a non-profit human services organization serving Western Pennsylvania for over 100 years, is seeking a Disability Services Program Specialist to join their team in Butler, PA. This full-time position works Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, with no evenings, weekends, or holidays. The Program Specialist plays a vital role in empowering individuals with special needs to live as independently as possible by developing skills, coordinating resources, and providing supportive services.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure individuals receive regularly scheduled medical, dental, psychiatric, and psychological services in accordance with regulations and doctor recommendations.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of individualized plans, including Individual Plans (IP), Restrictive Procedure Plans, Social Emotional Environmental Plans, Fade Plans, and Desensitization Plans.
  • Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of persons with intellectual disabilities.
  • Perform a combination of hands-on work with individuals and administrative duties.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and 2 years of experience working directly with persons with intellectual disabilities or autism (preferred degrees: Special Education, Human Services, Social Services, Psychology, Criminology)
  • OR 60 credit hours from an accredited college or university plus 4 years’ experience working with persons with intellectual disabilities or autism.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to articulate information to a diverse audience.
  • Must secure and maintain Crisis Prevention Intervention training within three months of hire.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid driver's license.
