DISABILITY COMPENSATION ENFORCEMENT SPECIALIST IV, III, II, AND I - DOWNTOWN, OAHU

About the role

This position is full-time and located in Downtown Honolulu, Oahu. Applications are accepted until 30 applications are received. Salary ranges from $5,527 to $6,728 monthly, depending on the level of the position.

Responsibilities

• Independently conducts a variety of difficult to highly complex enforcement activities for the prevention and detection of violations of the Hawaii State Disability Compensation laws, rules and regulations as a primary work assignment and performs other duties as required.
• Supervises and participates in performing enforcement assignments for the prevention and detection of violations to the Hawaii State Disability Compensation laws, rules and regulations; and performs other duties as required.
• Performs a variety of enforcement activities ranging from simple to moderately difficult under close supervision in an advanced trainee capacity; and performs other duties as required.
• Serves in a trainee capacity receiving orientation and training in disability compensation enforcement activities; performs simple and routine work under close supervision; and performs other duties as required.

Requirements

• Legal Authorization to Work: Must be a citizen, national, or permanent resident alien of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States.
• Bachelor's Degree: Required for all levels.
• Specialized Experience:
  • Level IV: Two and a half (2 ½) years of specialized experience required.
  • Level III: One and a half (1 ½) years of specialized experience required.
  • Level II: One-half (1/2) year of specialized experience required.
  • Level I: No specialized experience required.
• Experience: Enforcement work experience involving investigation, enforcement, and promotion of compliance with Hawaii State Disability Compensation laws, rules and regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
• Progressively responsible enforcement work experience which involved investigating, enforcing and promoting compliance with laws, rules and regulations affecting or relating to employees or which relate to relationships between employees and employers.
• Ability to write clear and comprehensive reports and other documents; read and interpret complex written material; and solve complex problems logically and systematically.

Skills

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of Hawaii State Disability Compensation laws, rules and regulations.
