Our team of more than 120 M&A advisory leaders and specialists from the Big Four and Big Law works with clients throughout the deal life cycle to maximize value, minimize risk, and achieve superior outcomes through tailored, high-impact advice.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee international and domestic M&A deals, including performing tax due diligence and tax structuring services
  • Be a trusted advisor for every Leo Berwick client and partnership
  • Provide timely and quality tax advice, always aiming to exceed client expectations
  • Review and draft tax opinion memoranda, including on complex technical topics such as Subchapter C/K, inbound/outbound, cross-border issues)
  • Collaborate with senior leadership (Partners, Managing Directors) on business development, identifying opportunities, leading proposals, cultivating client relationships
  • Review and assist clients in the quantitative and qualitative analysis of the tax data in their financial projections for the transaction
  • Review tax aspects of merger agreements and legal documents; provide tax opinion memorandums
  • Mentor, develop, motivate, and train Vice Presidents and Senior Associates

Requirements

  • JD or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Tax Law, or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in tax due diligence, deal structuring, and post-merger integration at a Big 4, corporate tax department, or Big Law firm
  • Minimum 5 years of experience planning and executing projects, including managing budgets
  • Ability to communicate complex tax concepts to clients in a clear and concise manner
  • Demonstrated track record of leading teams and projects, managing budgets and delivering results under tight deadlines
  • Strong communication skills – able to explain complex tax issues clearly to non-technical stakeholders
  • Excellent writing, research, analytical, and presentation skills
  • High attention to detail; strong organizational skills; capacity to juggle multiple projects
  • A self-starter mindset; comfortable operating with some ambiguity in fast-paced deal environments

Pay

North America - Cash compensation packages are significantly higher than other Big 4 accounting firms and consulting practices.
