Responsibilities
- Serve as a preclinical biology lead for business development evaluations of therapeutics at all stages
- Audit therapeutic rationale, mechanisms of action, and translational relevance for potential opportunities
- Review nonclinical and clinical data to identify key value drivers and risks
- Collaborate with Business Development on scientific assessment reports and diligence activities
- Support the identification of critical experiments to reduce scientific uncertainty for drug candidates
- Contribute to ongoing translational pharmacology activities for internal programs
Qualifications
- PhD, MD, PharmD, or equivalent advanced degree in Pharmacology, Biology, or related field preferred
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in the biopharmaceutical industry; or 6 years with an advanced degree
- Strong understanding of pharmacology principles in nonclinical and clinical development settings
- Proven commitment to patient-centered evaluation and decision-making in scientific assessments
- Experience in evaluating drug candidates and translational strategies in the rare disease domain
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with strong organizational abilities
