Director, Technology Strategic Sourcing & Category Management
Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available. Compensation: $119,100 – $186,560 annually.
About the role
For our client, we are seeking a Director, Technology Strategic Sourcing & Category Management to join the team of a leader in the Hospitals & Medical Centers space. This role will lead technology sourcing and category strategy within a complex healthcare environment, balancing business demand, supplier performance, and commercial value. The Director will partner closely with internal stakeholders to shape procurement decisions that support operational needs, cost discipline, and risk management. This position also oversees a team and helps ensure strong contract compliance, savings tracking, and category execution across technology spend.
Responsibilities
- Direct technology category strategies and sourcing plans aligned with business demand
- Lead supplier evaluations, negotiations, and award recommendations to secure commercial value
- Direct supplier performance and contract compliance to address quality and risk concerns
- Manage category budgets and savings tracking using financial metrics
- Oversee team performance and coach professional development
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, computer science, information systems, or a related field required
- 10+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, and category management required, including 4+ years in technology or data sourcing
- 5+ years of experience in a management capacity required
- Demonstrated track record negotiating and managing complex technology supplier contracts and portfolios of $50M+ in annual spend
- Experience owning a defined category or sub-category in a category-based procurement model required
