About the role

For our client, we are seeking a Director Technical Program Management to join the team of a leader in the Technical Services space. This role will lead technical initiatives focused on scalable systems, platform reliability, and meaningful business transformation. You will work across engineering, product, operations, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into practical technology solutions. The position offers the opportunity to influence architecture, execution quality, and the technology capabilities that enable long-term growth within a Technical Services environment.

Location: San Francisco, CA - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $240,000 – $260,000 annually

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a strategic partner to senior leadership and cross-functional teams to align priorities and manage escalations
  • Direct, coach, and elevate a high-performing team of Technical Program Managers
  • Design and implement corporate operating rhythms and delivery mechanisms for execution quality
  • Translate executive narratives into actionable program structures and outcomes
  • Optimize software delivery practices in partnership with engineering leadership

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of technical program management experience in large-scale software development
  • 5+ years leading and developing engineering or program management teams in tech environments
  • Proven track record managing technical portfolios across complex organizations
  • Demonstrated technical fluency, engaging with engineering leaders on software architecture and release management
  • Exceptional communication and executive presence, influencing senior stakeholders effectively
