Director, Tariffs & Customs

About the role

The Director, Tariffs & Customs will lead the development and implementation of strategies to manage tariffs and customs compliance across various regions including Atlanta, GA, New York, NY, Rockville, MD, Chicago, IL, Baltimore, MD, Charlotte, NC, Houston, TX, Little Falls, NJ, Boston, MA, Fort Lauderdale, FL, Minneapolis, MN, Austin, TX, Philadelphia, PA, Arlington, VA, and Dallas, TX. The role will also oversee tax compliance efforts in specialty tax areas.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive tariff and customs compliance strategies for global operations
• Oversee the implementation of tax compliance programs in specialty tax areas
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of tariff and customs policies
• Stay updated on regulatory changes and implement necessary adjustments to maintain compliance
• Provide guidance and training to team members on tariff and customs regulations
• Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure adherence to compliance standards

Requirements

• At least 10 years of experience in tariffs and customs management
• Proven track record in leading and managing compliance initiatives
• Experience in specialty tax areas is preferred
• Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret complex regulations
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in taxation, law, or a related field
• CPA certification is preferred

Skills

• Strong knowledge of international trade laws and regulations
• Experience with tariff and customs software tools
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines

$150,000 - $200,000 annually
