Director, Supply Chain Management - Supply Chain - FT - Days
About the role
The incumbent is responsible for coordinating the materials management system throughout the medical center or health system, including procurement, processing, and distribution of materials and services. They ensure the efficient and cost-effective acquisition of equipment and supplies, manage operations of a materials management unit, and implement systems, analyze data, and ensure compliance.
Responsibilities
- Communicate strategies with senior leadership and actively listen to gain acceptance from others.
- Manage operations of a materials management unit, implementing systems, analyzing data, and ensuring compliance.
- Manage staff using materials management techniques to maintain supplies.
- Establish departmental goals and objectives, function with autonomy, and manage subordinate supervisors and professionals.
- Ensure subordinate supervisors and professionals adhere to defined internal controls and manage systems and procedures to protect departmental assets.
- Forecast talent needs and encourage leadership development for succession planning.

Qualifications
- Minimum five years previous working experience managing organizational-wide supply chain activities - procurement, inventory control, purchasing, etc.
- Interpersonal skills to maintain professional relationships with all levels of staff and coordinate supply chain activities across functions.
- In-depth knowledge of the most current materials management best practices and systems.
- In-depth knowledge of business subjects such as purchasing, inventory systems & controls, and/or accounting.
- Advanced skills in the use of ERP / financial systems (such as Oracle, PeopleSoft, SAP, etc.).
- Advanced skills in organizing, simplifying, and increasing efficiency of processes and procedures while maintaining standards and compliance.
- Ability to interpret data and make appropriate decisions for the organization using that data; knowing burn rate, utilization and forecasting.
- Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
- Comprehensive knowledge of relevant internal policy, external regulations, and best practices.
- Expert Excel skills.
