About the role

National Safety Apparel (NSA) is seeking a strategic and results-driven Director of Supplier Management to lead supplier strategy, sourcing initiatives, and supplier performance across our global operations. This role is responsible for developing strong supplier partnerships, ensuring reliable supply, optimizing costs, and supporting business growth through effective sourcing and inventory management practices.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute NSA’s supplier management and sourcing strategy.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and strategic partners.
  • Negotiate supplier agreements, pricing, rebates, stocking programs, and performance expectations.
  • Drive supplier accountability for quality, service, compliance, and operational performance.
  • Manage supplier scorecards and ongoing performance reviews.
  • Lead sourcing activities supporting new product development.
  • Identify and execute re-sourcing opportunities to improve cost, availability, supplier stability, and country-of-origin strategies.
  • Develop dual-sourcing strategies for critical materials to reduce supply risk.
  • Partner with Supply Chain Operations and Finance to ensure accurate product costing.
  • Analyze purchasing trends, supplier forecasts, and seasonal demand patterns to support inventory optimization.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 supplier qualification and review requirements.
  • Utilize reporting and analytics to drive supplier performance and continuous improvement.
  • Support cost savings and operational efficiency initiatives across the supply chain.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • Master’s degree or advanced certification preferred.
  • 7–10 years of experience in supplier management, procurement, sourcing, or supply chain leadership.
  • Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience.
  • Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and supply chain processes.
  • Experience with purchase planning, forecasting, inventory management, and supplier performance management.
  • Demonstrated success negotiating supplier agreements and building strategic supplier partnerships.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally and drive measurable business results.

Travel

Approximately 20–30% travel required.

Work Environment

Primarily office-based environment. Occasional time spent in manufacturing, warehouse, and distribution facilities.
