About the role
The Commercial Aircraft Group (CAG) is seeking a Director, Strategic Sourcing to provide global leadership for strategic sourcing, commodity management, supplier development, and strategic supplier partnerships. This executive-level role will drive sourcing strategy, supplier performance, and supply chain resilience to support business growth, operational excellence, and financial objectives.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a key member of the CAG ISC Leadership Team, helping define strategic priorities and overall supply chain direction.
- Lead global commodity strategies and sourcing initiatives that align with business objectives, growth plans, and supply chain requirements.
- Oversee supplier selection, qualification, and sourcing decisions while balancing cost, quality, delivery, risk, and continuity of supply.
- Provide strategic leadership for Make vs. Buy decisions, supplier transitions, and supply base optimization efforts.
- Analyze market conditions, supplier capabilities, and supply chain trends to identify opportunities for cost reduction, risk mitigation, and improved performance.
- Persistently partner with Engineering, Operations, Quality, Program Management, Legal, and Contracts teams to support sourcing strategies and negotiate supplier agreements.
- Lead supplier development initiatives that strengthen supplier performance, technical capability, capacity, and long-term competitiveness.
- Build and maintain executive-level relationships with key suppliers to drive performance, innovation, and strategic alignment.
- Serve as the escalation point for significant supplier performance, contractual, and commercial issues.
- Lead and develop a global Strategic Sourcing team while promoting operational excellence, continuous improvement, and best practices across the organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Operations, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, contracts or supply chain leadership within a global manufacturing environment.
- Experience developing and executing commodity strategies, supplier development programs, and long-term sourcing initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of supplier contract negotiation, commercial terms and conditions, and supplier relationship management.
- Proven ability to influence and collaborate across Engineering, Operations, Quality, Program Management, and executive leadership teams.
- Experience within aerospace, defense, or another highly regulated industry preferred.
- Working knowledge of applicable regulatory and compliance requirements, including FAR/DFARS, EAR/ITAR, import/export regulations, and other aerospace industry standards.
- Strong business acumen with demonstrated success in risk management, supplier performance improvement, and cost optimization.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience leading global, multicultural, and geographically dispersed teams.
- Ability to travel globally as business needs require.
- Ability to access export-controlled information and meet applicable work authorization requirements.

Pay
Salary Note: Posted salary range is based on primary work location being East Aurora, NY - since this role is eligible for other locations in the US, range for those locations may vary. TB2 Salary Range Transparency Buffalo, NY $160,000.00–$230,000.00 Annually
